A Tour of Britain

This riddle will be mainly textual. You will need to find the place I am alluding to, and once you are there you may have an extra question about the place. At some point I will add some pics and make it more interesting but for now its mainly text. You will need Wikipedia and maybe the street view of Google maps in some cases. I am planning 20 levels but only 10 are properly researched so far.
